Dear Friends,

Our work generates economic prosperity, food security, and communal wellness for BIPOC in our communities. Our goal is to build intergenerational wealth and intergenerational health. For the past two decades building Urban Growers Collective and its predecessor Growing Power, we have cherished this work while also becoming intimate friends with the racist systems, ideologies, and policies that require our work to continue on. When faced with the big questions and daunting challenges, we let creativity lead the way.

As spring greets summer, our creative power is in full bloom. This quarter, our youth have been prime givers of creative energy. At Bronzville’s Educare Preschool Farm and in our Youth Corps programming, young explorers continue inspiring our own curiosity.

We are welcoming in new forms of creative expression. Our Arts on the Farm programming has introduced us to new ways of connecting with the land and each other through intentional, collective movement and creativity. This June, we had the pleasure of co-hosting two Night Out in the Parks events with Red Clay Dance next to our Green Era Campus and next to our South Chicago Farm for Juneteenth. Through movement and music, we celebrated our path to collective freedom and began to uncover the
answers our bodies have been holding for us.

Your support gives our creative power permission to continue changing lives. We have arrived at another season of bountiful harvests and rejuvenating community-focused programming, with and because of you. Thank you for having our backs and pushing us towards our answers. Thank you for allowing the creative thought within yourselves to see our shared vision and action as a way forward.
