Commonwealth Edison Edible Landscape

Commonwealth Edison contracts Urban Growers Collective’s teens and staff to landscape their facility on 35th Street in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.  UGC plants a mixture of vegetables and flowers to beautify the border, which provides a demonstration of how to integrate edible vegetables, berries and flowers in to traditional home and business landscapes. The Com-Ed project began in 2017 and continues to flourish and provide beauty to the Southside of Chicago. Our teens harvest and dry the herbs and edible flowers to create teas, balms and salves to sell.
