Purchase Our Produce

Fresh, Local Produce

We grow a variety of crops so that our farm stands, Fresh Moves Mobile Market, and CSA shares are stocked with a beautiful and nutritious range of fresh produce. We specialize in growing many unique and heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables. In addition to fruits and vegetables, we grow culinary and medicinal herbs, edible flowers, and a wide array of ornamental plants for neighborhood beautification. We also raise goats, chickens, and honey bees.

Farm Stands

During the growing season, we run weekly on-site farm stands at two of our farms:

South Chicago Farm
9000 S Mackinaw Ave
Saturdays 10 AM – 2 PM

Roosevelt Square Youth Farm
CLOSED FOR THE SEASON

We sell a range of UGC-grown foods, produce and value-added products from our Incubator Farmers, herb and vegetable seedlings, and culturally-affirming staple fruits and vegetables from our partner, Midwest Foods.

Our goal is to provide fresh, healthy food to South Side communities that have historically lacked access. We accept cash, Link/SNAP, credit, debit, and Illinois WIC/Senior Farmers’ Market vouchers at all of our farm stands and markets.

Fresh Moves

Our Fresh Moves Mobile Market is a bus that has been converted into a mobile farmers’ market. The “produce aisle on wheels” works toward closing the ‘food access gap’ by bringing produce to schools, community centers, churches, and health clinics — places that folks already frequent — to make good food accessible in Black and Brown neighborhoods that have been historically divested. Customers board the bus and shop for delicious local fruit, vegetables and grocery staples. The produce is priced to be affordable for all and to provide a fair return for the farmers and makers.

We accept cash, Link/SNAP, credit, and debit. Learn more and find our fall 2021 schedule at the link below.

CSA Shares

June through November, UGC runs a Collective Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Each CSA box is stocked with vegetables and herbs from UGC farms, micro greens from Urban Eden, fruit from Seedling Farm, and occasionally produce grown by our Incubator Farmers.

We offer both half shares (5-6 items per week) and full shares (10-12 items per week) as well as the option to donate a mutual aid share to a community member in need.

Members pick up their shares each week at partner sites throughout the city.
